Perler Beads

I have been researching Joseph Cornel's work and I adore his boxes that reflect a sense of nostalgia within a child-like persona, in response I decided to categorise some of my personal collections using Perler Beads. Does anyone remember these little plastic cylinders that you place on a grid and iron to seal? As a child I used them to make many random tea coasters and intend to reacquaint myself with that hobby.

'All About Me' Print

This A1 print is based on another adaptation of my crockery collection and influenced by a trip to Florence where I discovered the delights of Italian paper merchants and their wood block prints of decorative patterns.

Crockery

Here is my first collection of pottery designs produced in response to a brief entitled 'All About Me'.  The designs are based on my random collection of crockery and my adoration for design from the 1950's. Furthermore, I thoroughly enjoy baking a good cake and complimenting the slice with a cup of tea, so this was a perfect excuse to make a new tea set.
